Project 1 - Extended Visual Features

Because my project Emotion in Motion barely became feature locked let alone went into a polish phase the extend of my extended visual features were slim to none. However when i got feedback from play-testing and was implementing changes to my menu system and giving player instructions i came up with an idea to show the players upcoming notes they would need to destroy before they came into view. Even though i was unhappy with the current state of my game i decided to make to with what i had and i thought that an extra camera feature would create a new sense of tension for the player as they would be constantly looking up to see what was coming while the frantic pace of the game was still happening.

I placed a second camera behind the play-field and cast it in the top right hand corner of the game screen. I was happy with the overall outcome but would have preferred to have a border surrounding the camera to make it clearer for the player to see.

Unfortunately that was the extend of my extended visual features as the actual core mechanics of the game were still not working as intended which became the focus of my time. If i had more time i would have liked to implement a counter for the players to see how many notes they had destroyed and possibly implemented a “slow time” effect on the last note of each instruments track.
